I’m old. By the time you read this, I’m even older. Getting old means that some things I used to take for granted now come at a price. That price is usually pain.
When I was younger, I could ride my bicycle for hours and think nothing of it. Now, my 35 minute, 6.75 mile loop around my neighborhood dang near kills me.
Still, I do it. I do it because I know that it is good for me in the long term, even if it doesn’t feel good in the short term.
Keep an eye on the horizon, even as you are doing things that might produce short-term pain for you.
The pain hurts a lot less and doesn’t last as long when you understand its benefits in the in the big picture.
Until next time,
