It is hard for me to believe that we are already up to the 6th Day Camp 4 Developers. It seems like just yesterday that I was looking for a way to showcase a few great talks I knew about that weren’t getting selected at conferences. Now 3 years later, we’ve got 5 under our belt and are prepping for the 6th. (I say we because anyone who knows me that the secret sauce behind any of my projects is wife 1.29, The Lovely and Talented Kathy)
This time, the topic is Non-Programming for Programmers. Attendees will lear about:
- Agile development
- Source code management
I won’t go into the whole description, you can click through to DayCamp4Developers.com to get the complete list of speakers, talks, and to order tickets.
I will say this though. If you’ve ever bought a ticket to DC4D, thank you. It started as an experiment, it continued as part of my mission to help developers, and I’ll keep doing it as long as people keep buying tickets.
Until next time,

Day Camp 4 Developers #4: Business 101 for Developers is coming up March 3rd, 2012. If you haven’t purchased your tickets yet, you need to grab then now!
I LOVE hosting DC4D events; they are fun. I know all the speakers personally, I know how much fun they have preparing and presenting their talks. I know a lot of the attendees as well, I know how much fun they have by just hanging out in the irc room and watching the conversation. Everybody involved in DC4D has fun; but everyone, speakers, attendees and me, all learn things too.
One of my passions in life is helping developers and DC4D is just another way that I try to help. This time DC4D helps developers learn business skills that they need whether they are on a team or freelance.
Join Lorna Jane Mitchell, Jacques Wookdock, Tara Aaron, John Mertic, and Paul M. Jones on March 3rd for a day of learning.
Day Camp 4 Developers; invest a day in your career.
Until next time,

We are really, REALLY pleased to announce that the third Day Camp 4 Developers has now been announced and tickets are now on sale. This time around, the theme is Project Management.
We’ve added a speaker this time around for a total of six and did away with the lunch break. We discovered that since we were a virtual conference, our lunch break fell at odd times if you weren’t actually in Central Time Zone – and a lot of participants weren’t. So we filled that with an additional talk.
When: October 1st, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM CT
Here’s the speaker lineup for Day Camp 4 Developers #3: Project Management.
- Brian Prince: Hands on Agile Practices
- Thursday Brahm: How Freelancers Can Use Project Management to Make Clients Happier than They’ve Ever Been Before
- Rob Allen: Getting a website out of the door
- Keith Casey: Project Management is more than Todo Lists
- Elizabeth Naramore: Dealing with Difficult People
- Paul M. Jones: Estimating and Expectations
We are excited about this day-long event and how you will be too. Join us, get your tickets today!
Until next time.

I have a new project, Day Camp 4 Developers!
My self, the lovely and talented Kathy and 5 of our friends are all getting together on Saturday November 6th, 2010 to talk about skills that developers won’t usually think about but are important to their careers..
